Failed to connect to an IPC Port: The system cannot find the file specified
In SQL Server database tuning adviser, if you try to open it you may get this error message:
Failed to connect to an IPC Port: The system cannot find the file specified
This happens if the tuning adviser was open and crashed/failed to start.
Solution:
Open Task Manager and find DTAShell.exe under 'Processes'. End this process.
