Run Civilization IV on Windows 7
If you get an error 'log in as administrator' or the game won't start:
Uninstall
Reinstall by running setup.exe as an administrator, choose custom, and install to C:\games
In C:\games, right click the game's exe, go to properties, compatability
Check 'run as administrator'
Now run a command prompt as administrator
Type the following exactly: sc config secdrv start= demand
Then if it says 'success, type: sc start secdrv
Now run civ by double clicking the game exe
Once civ is running stop the service by typing: sc stop secdrv
Once I did all these, it worked! (computer patched as of 4/14/17)
